Associate Engineer (Mechanical)

Water Utility Operations Division
DUTIES:
This position will lead, direct, oversee and participate in the engineering aspects
of planning, design, construction, and operation and
maintenance of the Water Utility Operations Division’s corrosion control
program. The position will also lead, direct, oversee and participate in
the work of professional mechanical engineering staff responsible for
the design, development, construction, installation and maintenance of
mechanical equipment and systems in the District’s water quality and
water supply, storage, treatment and distribution facilities and plants;
to ensure work quality and adherence to professional codes, standards
and District specifications; and to perform a variety of professional
services relative to assigned area of responsibility.
EXPERIENCE:
Four years of professional
engineering experience with at least two years at the level equivalent
to that of the Assistant Engineer II (Mechanical) classification and
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
OR university with major course work in mechanical engineering or a
related field OR possession of a valid California Engineer-In-Training
Certificate with two years of associated paraprofessional engineering
experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license
is required. Prior to appointment, candidates will be required to
successfully pass a medical examination.
SALARY:
$7,507.07 - $9,148.53 per month - Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution
of 7.407%
