Web Designer
The Web Designer is responsible for the design
of new and revised online content from initial request through online publication.
This includes the web site, emails, and mobile applications. As a member
of multiple core teams, this responsibility includes, but is not
limited to: all phases of job organization and scheduling;
stakeholder interaction; content and interaction design; image
production; page construction; and quality control and testing. The
Web Designer supports the Online Communications Manager in providing
design solutions that promote the aquarium and E-Quarium goals and
standards.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
BA or Master's degree in graphic design, interaction design or
equivalent training or experience. 0-5 years directly related work
experience. Knowledge of HTML coding. Working knowledge of a variety
of design, production and interactive prototyping tools including
Photoshop, DreamWeaver, Fireworks, Acrobat and Director. Command of
Internet technologies including ASP.NET, XML, AJAX, CSS, Flash,
QuickTime, Shockwave. Solid understanding of user interface design,
web design, color theory, layout and typography. Strong presentation
skills with the ability to lead design critiques and explain visual
design concepts to non-designers. Proven experience of taking a
product from concept to release in deadline driven environment.
Exceptional conceptual, analytical, communication skills. Ability to
collaborate effectively on multi-disciplinary teams. Flexibility to
adapt to rapidly changing project parameters. Willingness and
commitment to stay abreast of web technology and learn new skills
and programs.
