SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST
Employee Health and Safety Unit
DUTIES:
To provide professional and analytical assistance in the administration
and management of assigned District programs including, but not limited
to, employee health and safety, regulatory agency relations, analyses of
assigned safety program policies and procedures to make recommendations
for improvement; and to perform a variety of analytical duties relative
to assigned areas of responsibilities. Requires the performance and
application of a practical knowledge of basic engineering and scientific
principles and methods to identify, evaluate, and control occupational
hazards such as those encountered on a construction site, or in an
industrial plant. Conducts professional safety work to eliminate or
control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and
machine operations which may lead to injury to persons and damage to
property.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in administrative,
management, systems, operations, budgetary or similar analyses;
experience should reflect diversity of analytical experience and
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
or university with major course work in public administration, political
science, business administration or a related field. Directly related
experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis
of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a
maximum of four years.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Three to five years of full time professional safety practice
experience. Previous positions must have had the primary function and
responsibility as being the prevention of harm to people, property and
the environment and a Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety,
engineering is desirable. Relocation allowance not available. Possession
of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s
license may be required with determinations made on a case-by-case
basis. Prior to appointment, candidates will be required to successfully
complete a medical examination.
SALARY:
$6,936.80 – $8,453.47 per month—Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes District payment of 8% PERS—Public Employees’ Retirement
System
