Latina woman 18-45 years old residing in the United States. The publication highlights

The vision of ModernLatina.Com is to create an
online community with content that will empower Latinas to realize their goals
and dreams. The website will encourage Latinas to achieve a well-balanced life.
The content acknowledges the talent and strengths of Latinas with inspirational
stories on real Latina women who are making a difference in the world. Modern
Latina allows the reader to discover and preserve the unique facets of Latin
culture. The site is an open forum for issues and concerns that impact the Latina
community.
A Note from the Publisher
In May, as I sat at my graduation
ceremony, listening to the keynote speaker, the phrases “make a difference” and “spark
change” kept echoing in my mind. Motivated by the energy in the stadium
from the graduates eager to enter the work world, I began to ponder what I would
do after graduation. I wanted my next venture to make a difference in my community
while incorporating my education in Mass Communication and experience in the
eBusiness field. The idea to create an online publication for Latinas came to
my mind. Thus, Modern Latina was created to cover our unique struggles and triumphs
of Latinas all around us. Modern Latina will be different from other online publications
because you will have the opportunity to ask questions and read about issues
from the Latina perspective.
Who is a Modern Latina? We are all Modern Latinas moving with
the times and holding strongly to our past traditions, or learning about an aspect
of our culture for the first time. I see Modern Latinas all around me every day
of my life, they are my inspiration for the Modern Latina online publication.
A Modern Latina is my friend Nely, who worked full-time and took classes at night
to get her Real Estate License. She is your prima Letty, who took the risk to
start her own small business while raising two toddlers. She is your tia Maria,
who is battling cancer and still cheers people with her positive look on life.
I am sure if you look around you, you will see other Modern Latinas, and even
looking in the mirror, you will see you are one too!
I am excited to meet other Latinas who are as passionate as
I am about improving their community and inspiring other Latinas to do the same.
ModernLatina.Com is a supportive open forum for Latina voices to share experiences,
aspirations, and advice. Keep coming back because this magazine is as dynamic
and innovative as we Latinas are. Each month Modern Latina will feature articles
that were requested by you.
I hope that you are as excited as I am about this venture
and enjoy the articles and resources. I encourage you to provide feedback about
what you want to see covered by Modern Latina. This publication is made for you
