If you were in a crowded room, at one point or another you would know who Cesar Plata is, because he would skillfully approach everyone, and invite you to attend his events and visit his website.

Cesar Plata was born in San Francisco, California, and is of Mexican and Colombian descent. He spent most of his childhood in Venezuela and Chile, where his father's job transfers took the family. Cesar was fortunate to receive an excellent education and travel throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. He observed extreme wealth and abhorrent poverty. He experienced at a young age how people could be so oppressive toward others and vowed to help others in the future. Cesar's parents instilled in him the importance and value of his education, culture and community. They often reminded him he would have access to opportunites in the United States not available to most people in other countries.

When Cesar and his family moved back to San Francisco, his experiences in South America gave him a global perspective on many situations and a new appreciation for his community. He became aware of the challenges many Latinos face in the US due to discrimination, ignorance, and lack of representation in business and government. He developed a sense of pride of being Latino and bilingual, and was driven to be successful and charitable in the future.
